Grad School Alumni Elect Tuft's Carmichael as Veep

Leonard Carmichael, President of Tufts College, was elected president of the governing council of the Harvard Foundation for Advanced Study and Research for 1952-53, the Foundation Newsletter announced yesterday.

Speaking at last month's annual Foundation luncheon, Carmichael said, "Alumni of the graduate schools of Harvard are fortunate in that they were exposed to real educational standards and true scholarship. We are grateful to the Harvard Foundation for giving us a chance to be of service."
