Commuters Shut Out Deacon Eleven 6-0 for First Win Since 1948

Dudley's football team scored its first House league victory since 1948 yesterday, blanking Kirkland 6 to 0.

Late in the opening period Dudley's Dick Driscoll gathered in a 20-yard touchdown pass from Bill Allison for the game's only score. The Allison-Driscoll combination continually bewildered the Deacon backfield with ten completions in 18 attempts.

Dudley hopes sank on the first Kirkland play from scrimmage when Charlie Collins broke into the clear at midfield. But the Commuters caught him from behind on the three. The Dudley line, led by Nick Nicoloro, Jack Morgan, and John O'Connell held fast, and turned back the Deacons.

In touch football Dudley came from behind to top Kirkland 18 to 12, and Leverett tied Lowell 12 to 12.
