Crimson sailors overwhelmed nine eastern teams, beating second place M.I.T. by a 33-point margin to take the Schell Trophy in a two-day regatta at Tech Saturday and Sunday.
Charles Hoppin led class "A" with 103 points, while Jim Nathanson dominated class "B" with 105 points, the highest individual tally of the whole meet. Neither skipper took less than third place in any of the regatta's 20 races.
Yesterday's win entitles the sailors, 1952 National Sailing Champions, to enter either the Middle Atlantic Fall Invitation Regatta, held November 22 at Annapolis, or the Angston Trophy Regatta, held November 28 in Chicago.
