Frank Mahoney made the hat trick for three goals last night, sparking the red-hot Yardling hockey team to a 10 to 6 win over Brown.
Captain Bob Marsolais and Doug Manchester tallied two goals apiece. Both of Marsolais' scores were made in the first few minutes of the game. The other freshman scoring was by Ned Bliss, Scott Cooledge, and Johnny Amory.
The Yardlings led at the end of the first period, 5 to 2, but the hard fighting Brown squad bounced back to close the gap early in the second period, 5 to 4.
The Crimson freshmen easily outclassed the Bruins in the last period by an exhibition of fine checking and puck handling.
The '55 squad now has 13 wins, one loss, and one tie for the season's play, with the only loss coming against St. Paul's. The team's next and last game is with Yale at the Arena on March 8.
