Sprinter Dave Hedberg was the only Harvard finalist in the second day of N.C.A.A. swimming last night, as Ohio State picked up 51 points to Yale's 42 toward the team championship.
Hedberg finished sixth in the 50-yard freestyle behind Dick Cleveland of Ohio State (22.3 seconds), Don Hill, Michigan, defending champion Clarke Scholes, Michigan State, Bob Nugent, Rutgers, and Bob Brown, Iowa State.
Michigan's John Davies bettered the world record in the 200-yard breast-stroke and Ohio State's Yoshi Oyakawa tied the American and intercollegiate records with a 2:07.3 time in the 200-yard backstroke.
