Quine Gets Eastman

Appointment of Professor Willard V. Quine of Harvard University as Eastman Professor from the United States to the University of Oxford for the academic year 1953-54 was announced yesterday. Professor Quine has taught philosophy at Harvard since 1948.

The Eastman Professorship was established by the late George Eastman in 1930. Its purpose is to send American professors to teach at Oxford.
