University Graduates Will Get Service Call, Says Alexander Clark

"Most of the 4500 students being awarded diplomas this year from the Colleges and graduate schools will eventually be called into service." Alexander Clark director of the Placement Office predicted yesterday.

Commenting on the report that employers are flooding the University in an effort to find students who can fill the gaps caused by the nation's rearmament program. Clark said, "Only those in scientific fields will probably be able to accept the offers of jobs following graduation.

"And even then they will probably only get a six month deferment. Three hundred members of the College graduating class are members of one of the R.O.T.C. units and they will probably be called to active duty in July," he concluded.
