Blood Drive Response Slow As 200 Miss Appointments

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Results of yesterday's blood donations were "poorer" than had been expected, for 200 scheduled donors failed to keep their appointments, Arthur Bloom '56, Publicity Chairman of the Committee, announced last night.

Donors contributed 338 pints yesterday, and 37 other would-be donors were rejected. Undergraduates have signed up to give 2,535 more pints of blood during the rest of the week.

President and Mrs. Pusey have both made appointments to give blood this week.

Donations will be received again today in Memorial Hall until 4:45 p.m.

Last year the blood drive netted 2,071 pints after 3,510 men had been pledged to donate. In 1951, of the 3,200 pledges, only 2,110 men eventually donated their blood.
