Hockey fans, ice-lovers, and interested citizens will congregate to discuss the fate of the Boston arena in a public meeting at Boston arena in a public meeting at Boston city Hall this morning. The gathering, sponsored by the City Council, will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Widespread interest in the possible purchase of the Arena by the Metropolitan District Commission prompted the Council to hold today's open meeting. John W. Watson '22, who offered to pay $100,000 towards the purchase of the Arena by the MDC, will be present.
Controversy has raged over the disposition of the Arena ever since early in December, when Walter Brown, manager of the Arena-garden Corporation, announced that he intended to sell the structure to a group of businessmen.
