Jack Barnaby's unbeaten varsity squash team moved two steps closer to a perfect season and another possible national championship over the weekend with overwhelming victories over Trinity and Wesleyan.

Friday, the Crimson routed Trinity at Hartford, 9 to 1, and Saturday whitewashed Wesleyan, 10 to 0. The wins were the varsity's fifth and sixth in a row this season.

Only Bon Brown, playing in the number nine spot, lost at Trinity, and he took his opponent to the full five games before losing. Number one man Haddon Tomes and number two Larry Brownell each were extended to jour games before clinching their wins.

Others Win Easily

All other Crimson players won in clean sweeps from their Trinity opponents. Bill Wister, John Ward, John Rauh, Ed Rose, Paul Garrigue, Guy Paschal, and AI Stone all gained easy victories.

Against Wesleyan, all ten Crimson players won their matches, with only one going to five games. Tomes, Wister, Ward, Rauh, Rose, Garrigue, and Brown won straight three-game wins. Brownell and Paschal each won in four and Stone clinched the shut-out with a rive-game victory.

The Crimson freshmen opened their intercollegiate schedule with two weekend triumphs, both by impressive margins. Led by former interscholastic champion Ben Heckscher, the Yardlings defeated the Williams freshmen Friday, 7 to 2.

Saturday, the freshmen traveled to Middletown, Conn., with the varsity and gained a 9 to 0 win over Wesleyan. All nine Crimson players won in three straight games.

The varsity's next intercollegiate match is against Army at West Point, Saturday, February 6.
