A fourth-quarter drive gave Leverett House's football teams its second straight win yesterday as it defeated Winthrop 9-0. Back Stu Dunsker scored the game's only touchdown and Mike Haywood kicked the extra point. Fred Shure's tackle of a Winthrop back behind the goal line for a safety accounted for the other two points.
Dunster will meet Lowell and Eliot will play Dudley in games scheduled for today. Dunster will be seeking its third straight victory; Lowell has won its only game so far. Both Dudley and Eliot have lost two games.
Winthrop turned the tables on Leveret: in the only touch football game yesterday by defeating the Bunnies, 23-14. Lowell taken on Dunster and Dudley plays Eliot in the two games today.
In soccer games yesterday, Lowell defeated Eliot and Dudley downed Adams, each by a score of 1-0. Lowell's win was its second straight.
Winthrop and Dunster, and Kirkland and Eliot will play the two soccer matches scheduled or this afternoon.
