Jayvees Open Season Here With Brown Eleven Today

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Coach Norm Shepard's junior varsity football squad opens its 1954 season today when it opposes the Brown jayvees on Soldiers Field. The game will begin at 3 p.m.

Scheduled to see action at fullback for the Crimson, provided that his eligibility papers come through in time, is this year's track captain, Bob Rittenburg. Rittenburg, who came out for football only this week, has run very well in practice, Shepard reports.

Joe Crehore will quarterback the home team's T-formation attack, while other backfield starters will be Ky Dewan at left half, Jim Damis at right half, and Mike Butler at fullback.

In the starting line will be Tony Markella at left end, Bill Markos at left tackle, Art Ticknor at left guard, J. Newell at center, Sam Quartarone at right guard, Joe Giampa at right tackle, and Dick Brickman at right end.

Bob Hastings, Ray Henry, Dave Holmes, and Dave Halperin are also likely to see service in the backfield, while line substitutes include Joe Stein, Joe Chinman, Larry Shields, Bob Zuegge, Pete Moister, Walt Bregman, and Jack Evgie.
