Transplanted Pines Replace Yard Elms

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Workmen will this week finish transplanting in the old Yard two White Pines which were taken from North Wilmington as replacements for diseased Dutch Elms. The 30 to 35 year old trees were selected as the largest that could be moved through the gates.

Approximately 18 other trees of five varieties will be placed in and around the Yard this winter to replace trees destroyed by last summer's hurricanes or blighted by disease. Although no transplants were moved until last week, their selection has been going on for several months.
