Representatives of 4 Faiths honor Philosopher Wolfson

Over 150 people, representing four religions yesterday honored Harry A. Wolfson '12, Nathan Littauer Professor of Hebrew Literature and Philosophy.

The ceremonies marked the forthcoming publication of Wolfson two-volume study of the philosophy of the Church Fathers, from St. Paul to St. Augustine, and also coincided with his 68th birthday. The new books are the fifth and sixth volumes of a projected twelve volume study of philosophy from Plate to Spinoza.

Speaking before the ceremony which was held in Andover Hall, Dr. George H. Williams, professor of Church History, called Wolfson's work "a landmark in almost 2000 years of Judaeo-Christian relations. For the first time,t he philosophy of the Fathers has been analyzed and ordered as an epoch in the history of religions and philosophical thought."
