The second of three unique open tournaments held annually in the Cambridge area will begin next Monday. Staged in the red, ivy-covered building at 14 Plympton Street, these eight to ten week affairs are noted for their good cheer and large number of yearly winner.

Known locally as competitions, these functions concentrate upon instruction in the fine points of writing and business. They are judged on the premise that anyone who achieves a basic standard of competence is electable.

Three separate comps, for the business, editorial, and news boards, will be off to a leisurely start amid beer and free lectures on the anatomy of linotype machines at 7:30 p.m. next Monday.

Noted for the huge sums it annually amasses and distributes to the staff, the business board is offering its own rare course in business administration. Upstairs, the editorial board has several openings for all candidates interested in setting the editorial policy.
