Rugby Team Drops 13-6 Game to Yale

Yale overcame a six-point deficit in what it had billed as "the rugby championship of America" to beat the Crimson 13-6 at the Fairfield County Hunt Club Saturday. It was Yale's first intercollegiate victory of the season.

The Crimson completely dominated the first half despite losing center Bob Cochran with a knee injury after eight minutes of play. Ten minutes later Lionel Bryer picked up a loose ball and passed to Martin Lindsay, who dived over the line to put the ruggers ahead 3 to 0 at the half.

The Crimson three quarters moved up field immediately after the second half kickoff, Nat Cooke increasing the lead to six points with an opportunist drop kick from 25 yards out at 0:37.

Yale made use of a two man advantage to score two quick tries, both of which they converted, and to kick a penalty goal for their total of thirteen points.
