The Kirkland Deacons (above) took control of the high-flying soccer ball yesterday to complete a 2 to 0 victory over Adams. Bill Kaufmann and George McGarrity scored goals for Kirkland. In the other inter-House soccer game of the afternoon, Lowell won 2 to 0 over Eliot.
In football Kirkland shut out Lowell, 19 to 0, with touchdowns by Peter Frederick, Dick Nye, and Glenn Sisler. The Winthrop Puritans sent the Dudley Commuters home without a score, winning 14 to 0.
In touch football, Winthrop defeated Dunster, 44 to 18, while Eliot downed Dudley, 24 to 6.
