Important Senate business today has forced postponement of a scheduled talk by Senator John Sparkman (D-Ala.), Ralph G. Pagter 2L, president of the Law School Democratic Club, announced last night.
Sparkman, the 1952 Democratic Vice-Presidential candidate, was to speak before a joint meeting of the Harvard Young Democratic Club and the Law School Democrats this afternoon at 1:45 in the Harkness Commons Meeting Room.
Remains in Washington
A shift in the Senate schedule, Pagter said, placing the voting on amendments to the Natural Gas Bill on today's agenda, will compell the Senator to remain in Washington.
"We still hope to have him come up as soon as he can make it," Pagter added. "He may be able to later in the week," he continued, "but his Senate commitments are far more important than his commitments to us."
Although Sparkman has not announced his exact topic, it will probably deal with the issues for the 1956 campaign, Pagter said.
