Senate to Consider Honors for Tenley

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Senator Richard H. Lee. (R.), of Newton has filed a resolution in the State House asking that the Senate officially praise Tenley Albright '57, figure skating champion, "for bringing honor to Newton and the commonwealth" through her victories in the 1956 Winter Olympics.

In the resolution, Lee said that in her participation in the games Tenley "exhibited true qualities of American girl-hood by exemplary and gracious conduct in competitive sports..." and that her sportsmanship has served to further the cause of world peace.

On Sunday, a parade through Newton will officially welcome Tenley home. This will be the skaters first public appearance since her return to the U.S.A.

After the march through town Mayor Howard Whitmore, Jr., will present Tenley with a citation.
