Mem Church Announces Preachers and Speakers

The list of speakers for morning prayers at Memorial Church was announced Thursday by the Summer School Office. At the same time the schedule of preachers for Sunday vespers at 8 P.M. at Memorial Church was also released.

Beginning tomorrow, the first speaker for morning prayers will be Professor William Y. Elliot; on July 3 and 5 Professor Cyril G. Sargent will speak followed on July 8, 9, and 10 by The Reverend John H. Leamon. Professor Samuel H. Beer will speak July 11 and 12; The Reverend E. Spencer Parsons on July 15, 16, and 17; and Mr. John U. Munro on July 19, and 19. President Frederick May Eliot of the American Unitarian Association will speak July 22 through July 24. Professor G. Wallace Woodworth will speak July 25 and 26; and The Reverend C. Howard Wallace will fill the final engagement for July speaking on the 29, 30, and 31.

Assistant Dean Harry H. Hoehler will be the first to continue the program in August speaking on the 1 and 2 followed by The Reverend Leonard G. Clough on August 5, 6, 7, and Professor Robert G. McCloskey on August 8 and 9. On August 12, 13, and 14 The Reverend Samuel H. Miller will speak; on August 15 and 16 Professor Dana M. Cotton; and on August 19, 20, and 21 Mr. Walter F. Smith.

Sunday Vespers for July will begin at Memorial Church at 8 P.M. on the 7th with The Reverend Arthur R. McKay, President of McCormick Theology Seminary, Chicago, Illinois, preaching, followed on July 14 by The Reverend Gordon M. Torgersen of the First Baptist Church, Worcester, Mass. On July 21 Professor Chandran Devanesen, Madras Christian College Madras, India, will preach. The Reverend Ferdinand Denbeaux of Wellesley College will preach on July 28.

August vespers will start on the 4 with The Reverend Edgar C. Reckard, Chaplain at Brown University; and will be continued by The Reverend Chalmers Coe, Hartford Seminary Foundation Hartford, Connecticut, on August 11. The Right Reverend Theodore Ludlow, retired Suffragen Bishop of Newark, New Jersey, will end the season on August 18.

Representing the United Ministry for this season will be: The Reverend Howard C. Wallace on July 7 and 21; The Reverend E. Spencer Parsons July 14 and August 11; on July 28 The Reverend Henry E. Horn; and on August 4 and 18 The Reverend Leonard G. Clough.
