Masters Consider Parietal Change, Deny Uneven Freshman Distribution

Despite rumors to the contrary, the proportion of students from public and private schools entering each House from the Class of '61 will remain the same as in previous years.

Several Masters have all affirmed that there has been a distribution of students among the eight Houses. John H. Finley, Jr., Master of Eliot House, said that the rumors are "absolutely untrue," and the "same distribution has been continued."

Winthrop Master David E. Owen claimed that Winthrop "has received a perfect cross-section of the Freshman Class," adding that there "was not a bit of change."

Finally, John J. Conway, Master of Leverett House, said that Leverett has probably received an equitable distribution in the freshman assignments.
