Crimson and Navy varsity baseball teams waited in the rain at Annapolis for 11/2 hours Saturday before giving up hope and calling off the game. Rescheduling of the game is up to the H.A.A., but coach Norman Shepard said last night that it would be played only if the outcome will affect league standings.
The rain started about game time and continued until the field was too wet to use even in the event of a break in the weather.
Tomorrow, the varsity will travel down the river to meet Boston University, the local college leader at former Braves Field. Because the team goes to Cornell Wednesday, Shepard will save Dave Brigham, five game winner, and use either Gerry Emmet or Byron Johnson as pitcher against B.U.
