Bruins Triumph Over Leafs, 4-3

By The ASSOCIATED Press

BOSTON--Vic Stasiuk and a faulty skate helped the Boston Bruins to a 4-3 National Hockey League victory over Toronto last night before 13,698 Boston Garden fans.

Stasiuk tipped in his 17th and 18th goals of the season while the Maple Leafs were shorthanded. In both cases defense man Tim Horton was serving interference penalties.

Skate trouble sent Jerry Toppazzini to the bench while his line was operating, and Coach Milt Schmidt called on his spare forward, Dutch Reibel, as a replacement.

Reibel got free in front of the Toronto goal on his first rush, but the pass didn't go to him. On the second rush, Reibel scored to put the Bruins ahead 3-1. He raced in on goalie Ed Chadwick to take a pass from Guy Gendron on the other side of the nets, then fired home.

The Bruins now have gone four games without a loss and their victory foiled a Maple Leaf bid to escape the NHL cellar.
