Bank Planned On M.T.A. Site

The Cambridge Trust Company has applied to the state for a permit to open a branch office somewhere on the site now occupied by the MTA yards, if and when the MTA sells the property.

Bank president George Macomber said yesterday that the proposed branch would include a drive-in window. The added facility "would be a great convenience" to city and University people, he said.

Macomber cited the present crowding in the Massachusetts Ave. Office and the traffic problem in the Square as the main reasons for his bank's application.
