French 20 Will Offer Lectures Next Fall As Alternate Plan

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

French 20 will in effect be divided into two courses when changes outlined yesterday by Wilbur M. Frohock, professor of Romance Languages, take place in the fall. Now given only in sections, the course will be offered simultaneously in either three all-French sections a week, or one English section and two French lectures a week.

Students who can follow the course entirely in French will attend the three sections; those whose French is inadequate will enter the lecture division. If students show substantial improvement, the department will consider changes at midyears.

Tape recordings of the lectures and of selections from plays and poetry on the reading list will be available at the Modern Language Center.
