Crimson swimmers ended an Army three-meet winning streak on Saturday with 11-40 victory at West Point.

Highlighting the Crimson triumph were Jeff Lewy's victory in the dive, and Bob Kaufmann's record-breaking performance in the 900-yard individual medley, Lewy, a sophomore, finished well ahead of Army divers with 65.37 points. Kaufmann's time of 8:11.6 in his first medley of the season set a new Army pool record.

The Crimson's Bruce Hunter won twice, taking the 100-yard freestyle, and tying the Army pool record in the 56-yard freestyle with 0:23.4. Another Crimson double winner was sophomore George Mulligan who was the middle distance events, the 100 and 440 freestyles.

The Crimson and the Cadets split the relays, with the Crimson team of Kaufmann, McJennett, Coffman, and Seatgraf taking the 400-yard medley in 3:59, and Cadets Ktirey, Chapman, Thomas, and Sollohub winning the final 400-yard freestyle event in 3:34.8. The Cadets took first place in 20-yard backstroke (3:16) and 20-yard breastroke (2:36.7).

The varsity's triumph was the third of the season in as many meets. Coach Bill Brooks was "very pleased" at the victory, calling Army "the toughest opposition we have had this season" and "the best Army team we've met in years."

The Crimson freshmen continued their streak by beating the West Pointers 54 to 56. Harvard freshman records were toppled in the 200-yard medley relay, the 100-yard breastroke, and the 100-yard butterfly.
