Rutgers Team Trims Crimson Wrestlers By 22-5 Margin

Rutgers overwhelmed the varsity wrestling team by a crushing 22-5 score yesterday in the IAB.

The only Harvard victory was gained by Bob Kolodney in the 157-pound class, while Crimson captain George Doub wrestled Jim Janish, the Rutgers captain, to a 1-1 draw at 130 pounds.

In other action, Pete Keeler of Harvard was defeated by a take-down in the last seconds of the match at 123 pounds, and Jay Gaffney, at 137 pounds, lost 1-7.

At 167 the Crimson's Fred Pereira managed to stay close to Leary of Rutgers, last year's New England intercollegiate champion, but still lost, 8-5.

Bill Smith at 147 lost 4-11, as his Rutgers opponent scored 6 takedowns, an escape, and a near fall, while at 177 Bob Ballantine lost on the only fall of the afternoon after 7 min., 27 sec.

In the 191 pound class Dave Grose-close lost 2-6, while in the unlimited classification, Bob Fastov lost 0-6.

The defeat brings the wrestling team's record to 2-2, with an Ivy League mark of 0-1. Their next match is at Dark mouth on Saturday.
