The Cambridge City Council passed the budget for 1962, disposed of some honor orders concerning the city streets, and requested the Massachusetts Commissioner of Public Works to keep it informed of future deliberations on the Inner Belt at its 45-minute meeting yesterday afternoon.
The $21,523,717.11 budget--an increase of about $500,000 over last year--was approved without a dissenting vote. The motion on the Inner Belt was introduced by Councillor Bernard Goldberg, who said that it was imperative that the Council make its opinions known to the authorities responsible for selecting a route for the expressway.
