The following prizes have been announced: the Helen Choate Bell prize to Joel M. Porte 5G $500 for an essay entitled "Nature as Symbol: Emerson's Noble Doubt;" and the Winthrop Sargent award, to James S. Gordon '63, for an essay entitled "Shakespeare's Last Hero."
Also: the William Harris Arnold and Gertude Weld Arnold award to Brian C. Stock The William Scott Ferguson prizes 1961-63 have been awarded to Charles R. Bush '64 (first prize) and William F. Pedersen Jr. '64 (second prize). The two sophomores was books for outstanding essays written as part of the tutorial assignment.
