RADCLIFFE'S FOURTH HOUSE

The Mail

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

To the Editors of the CRIMSON:

Radcliffe's plans for its fourth House, accurately described in Friday's CRIMSON, were represented in your Saturday issue by a photograph labeled "official sketch" of a "living room for 25." A brief caption offered additional information.

Lest someone regard that representation seriously I would appreciate your publishing the following corrections:

1. The sketch you used was experimental when drawn and obsolete when you published it.

2. It depicted quarters for one student, not a living room for 25.

3. We have nowhere conceived of a laundry adjoining a living room.

4. The seven residential units will not be self-contained. They will be connected to, and dependent upon, the facilities of a "commons" building.

5. The seven units will not each house between 25 and 40 girls. As tentatively planned, four will house approximately 30, two approximately 45, and one approximately 90.

Thank you. Byron Stookey,   Associate Director of   Advanced Standing.
