The Crimson j.v football squad showed good ball control but little scoring power, Saturday as it edged Princeton 3-0.
The single score came early in the first quarter on a 16-yard field goal by cornerback John Beaulieu. For the rest of the half, the ball was jockeyed back and fourth between the two 15-yard lines.
A solid defense against Princeton forced the Tigers into punting position in the second half. Linebacker Bob Stack blocked the kick, and the end Bill Timpson recovered the ball on the Princeton 16.
Harvard moved up for a first down on Princeton's three-yard line. After uneventful dive plays, the Crimson was moved back to the Princeton 6 on an offsides penalty. Quarterback Peter Berg ran the ball back to the one-yard-line, but the Princeton defense held on the fourth down.
