Junior midfielder Larry Palmer was the only Harvard player named to a 13-man All Ivy lacrosse team chosen by the league's coaches and announced yesterday.
Palmer, the fastest player on coach Bruce Monro's squad, was one of six midfielders named to the team. Three extra midfielders were chosen because the voting was unusually close.
Another junior, Dan Calderwood, was named to the second team. Calderwood, a defenseman, was an end on the varsity football team last fall.
Two seniors, defenseman Fred Gates and high-scoring attackman Dick Ames, received honorable mention.
Ivy League co-champions Dartmouth and Princeton dominated the team. Dartmouth placed four men on the first team including attackman Lee Mercer and goalie Brian Walsh, both repeaters from last year's team.
Princeton attackman Tino O'Brien, who led the league in scoring with 27 points, was named to the first team, while four Tigers were second-team selections.
