CLEAN Parade To Protest Dirt

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In an urban version of a medieval morality play, Mr. Clean will do battle this morning with his arch-enemy Mr. Dirt.

The duel is part of a parade sponsored by Community Litter Elimination Action Now, kicking off its "Cambridge Cleanup Week." Men from CLEAN, mostly Harvard freshmen from a seminar in problem-solving, will assemble in front of the Union with a street-sweeping machine and a city garbage truck at 10:15 a.m.

The parade will tramp down Mass Ave. until it nears Central Square, when the marchers will drop their placards for brooms and begin sweeping a ten-block area. Mr. Dirt, covered in newspapers, will be swept into the truck with the rest of the trash as the march approaches its goal, City Hall, where the clean-up will stop.

CLEAN welcomes anyone to join the procession. Litter bags will be served.
