You say I am
Free, from bondage and domination
and your domain.
Now I'm of no more use.
But I still complain.
What do you ask for?
I owe you nothing, I reply.
But you do.
You owe me the thoughts
I dare not think.
the words I conceal out of fear
the love I didn't receive
the mother I never had
the father I did not see
the respect that I need
Yet you say, I am Free.
Like an animal you used me.
Now I'm of no use, you set me Free.
Yes, free, as a clipped wingbird
