Dean Ford confirmed last night that he has resumed on a full-time basis his duties as dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.
Yesterday's Faculty meeting was the first chaired by Ford since he was admitted into Massachusetts General Hospital April 16 with a "circulatory disorder." At the time he suffered paralysis of the right shoulder, cheek and arm, possible symptoms of a mild stroke.
Regular Schedule
Ford said that he is now back on his regular schedule. Last week he alternated days with acting dean Edward S. Mason, Lamont University Professor.
Mason will now relinquish all administrative responsibilities. He is planning to retire in June.
After spending a few days in the hospital, Ford spent two weeks resting in a Vermont farmhouse, where he read page proofs for a book on European history.
Ford became ill one week after the police bust of the University Hall occupation, and has not been involved in any University business since that time.
