JVs Beat SMU; Yardling Booters Play Tufts Today

The Harvard junior varsity soccer team defeated Southern Massachusetts for the first time in three years yesterday, 2-0, at the Business School Field.

Sophomores Henry Sideropolis and Alejandro Martinez scored the goals for the JVs-one in the first period and another in the second-then the Crimson defense staved off the S. M. U. attack to preserve the victory.

S. M. U. was the only team to defeat the JVs in both 1968 and 1969.

On the freshman level, the Yardling booters will put their 3-0 record on the line against Tufts at 3 p.m. today in Medford.

Freshman coach Dana Getchell said yesterday he is "just tickled as hell" with his unbeaten squad, but that he cannot really evaluate the team's strength because all of its games have been played in the rain.

Felix Adedeji leads the freshmen scorers with nine goals.
