B.U. Strike Ends As Administrator Announces Talks

The student strike at B.U. against aleged "political repression" drew to a close yesterday after an estimated 65 to 70 per cent of all students stayed away from classes.

With the conclusion of the two-day strike, which was called by the Student Union. further student protest at B.U. remains uncertain.

Everett Walters, vice president for Academie Affairs, said yesterday that, for students. the strike was a success "from the standpoint of an educational venture." He announced a meeting for March 12 of student. faculty, and administration representatives for further discussion of student demands as they related to student participation in university decision-making.

Strike Issues

Edgar Bottome professor of government, said last night, "That announcement doesn't say anything about the issues of the strike or the concerns of the students. The other issues have been discussed for years."

"The meeting is a delaying tactic to avoid taking action on any of the issues involved." he added.

The demonstrators were demanding that B.U.:
