If any part of this spring's elaborate antiwar offensive successfully alters government thinking on Vietnam, it will be the series of protest actions planned by the Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW) in Washington next Monday through Friday.
Operation Dewey Canyon III, as VVAW is calling the protest, will resemble nothing the antiwar movement has produced so far. Unlike previous Washington protests, this one may well get

through to national politicians. Already over half the Massachusetts congressional delegation has publicly endorsed it.
Some of the scheduled actions are familiar: a march on Congress to demand an immediate withdrawal of all American military forces from Indochina, continuous lobbying and a constant vigil at the Capitol.
