Henry I. Kohn, Gaiser Professor of Radiation Biology at the Medical School, has been appointed director of the recently established Center for Human Genetics.
Kohn is a radiologist, biologist and physiologist who has done research in mutagenic rates and agents that cause mutations in man and other animals.
"The Center will form a unifying framework within which teaching and research in human genetics can be developed," explained Dr. Robert H. Ebert, dean of the Med School.
The multipurpose center will promote teaching and research in human genetics and attempt to enhance patient care and community service through the Medical School's controversial associated teaching hospitals. In addition, it will cooperate with other groups such as the Center for Population Studies and the Laboratory of Human Reproduction and Reproductive Biology.
