Apathy Threatens B.U. Student Union

The Boston University Student Union, which is the only group that claims to represent the entire B.U. undergraduate body, is dying off because of dwindling student body and administration support.

This coming year will be the first time since the union's creation in 1969 that a membership fee to the Union will not be included on the students' term bill. Union officials plan to try to collect next year's fees by mail, Jason M. Dunn, the new president of the Union, said yesterday.

Student indifference manifested itself in the election of Union officials two weeks ago, when only 2 300 out of 14,000 undergraduates turned out at the polls.
