Evangelist George "Jed" Smock yesterday urged Harvard students to seek God "before it's too late."

Smock, speaking from the steps of Memorial Church, told a passing crowd that now is the time "to get with God."

"Jesus is coming soon and this time as a judge. Those who don't know Jesus will surely perish," he said.

Smock said he is an ex-professor of History at Wisconsin State University. Mark Orewiler, an associate disciple of Christ, said yesterday that since Smock found God in a commune in North Africa, the ex-professor has been spreading the gospel on college campuses.

Orewiler said Smock plans to go to Columbia University on Friday.
