Yale's athletic director, Delaney Kiphuth, agreed yesterday with the demonstrators' complaints. Kiphuth said that on Monday Yale will request the zoning variance necessary for a hook-up of utilities.

If Yale gets the expected approval from the Derby city government, Kiphuth said, the crew members will be able to take hot showers after Tuesday night's practice in a rented trailer that arrived at the Derby practice area during the protest Wednesday. --Marc G. Isaacs
