To the Editors of The Crimson:

The Crimson's article on WHRB, which ran on Monday, November 6, was a very pleasant and friendly view of our station, and we would like to thank Mary Gotschall for the article. But, there are a few clarifications that should be made.

Firstly, WHRB is located at 95.3 FM, and not 93.5 as printed.

And secondly, I would like to clear up a quote that appeared not entirely in context. It should not be implied that WHRB "discovered" Private Lightning, The Tweeds, or any number of other promising local bands. The point is that, because of our lack of commitment to ARB statistics or dependence on profit-oriented programming, we at WHRB not only have the desire but also the means to provide these bands with an opportunity to be heard on the airwaves of Boston/Cambridge.

WHRB has in fact helped many bands, but only in that we have had the freedom to give them the air time that we believe they deserve. Any success achieved by these groups should be attributed to the quality of their work, and listener acceptance. Listener acceptance is what musical success is all about. Robert A. Falk '79   Program Director, WHRB
