The March Goes On

ACSR

By Eric B. Fried

Neither snow nor cold nor mid-semester hourlies could deter over 100 people from picketing the meeting of the Advisory Committee on Shareholder Responsibility (ASCR) Thursday.

For the fourth week in a row, students marched outside the Faculty Club, holding signs and chanting slogans that criticized Harvard's policy of investing in companies that operate in South Africa.

The size of the weekly demonstrations has grown steadily, from 30 the first couple of weeks to Thursday's 100-plus crowd.

Meanwhile, the ACSR has been meeting inside the building to hammer out a suggested University policy towards South African-related investments, which it will present to the Corporation Monday.
