Five Harvard students this week received Marshall scholarships for study next year at British universities. The students are David F. Bush '81, Michael S. Elias '81, Jerome Levi '81, Paul Y. Liu '81, and Eric P. Rakowsky '80. The Marshall scholarship, founded by the British government in 1953 in appreciation for American aid to Europe under the Marshall Plan, is awarded to students who demonstrate "distinction of intellect and character" and who show promise of making "a significant contribution to their society."
