Colgate piled up 721 total yards on its way to a 54-28 pasting of Dart-mouth Saturday at Hanover, N.H., in front of 9434 fans.
The Red Raiders gained 433 yards in the first half alone to sprint out to a 35-0 halftime advantage. Starring for Colgate (4-1) was running back Ken Gamble, who ran for 173 yards and two touchdowns before being taken out at halftime.
One of Gamble's scores was on a 91-yd. dash--the longest run from scrimmage in Colgate history.
Gamble's run was topped in the fourth quarter by teammate Barry Chubb who capped of the visitor's scoring with a 95-yd. touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
The Big Green (0-4) finally got moving in the second half, tallying a pair of touchdowns in each of the last two quarters. Overall, the hosts racked up 30 first downs in the color war, only one less than the victorious Red Raiders.
