Pre-Frosh Eating Tour

FORGET about the statue of John Harvard. Don't bother taking pictures of Memorial Church. That stuff is for tourists. If you are serious about this school, you should learn about the real Harvard. And you'll find none of the must-see sights in the Yard.

Only your stomach can let you understand the true essence of Harvard--and after eating in the dining halls you will see why this affects us so much. As a pre-frosh, however, you can't get a good sense of what to do about it. The cookies and punch at the receptions just can't satisfy the junk food cravings you will develop from going to classes.

Don't resort to Store 24 to fill this need--go on the "pre-frosh Eating Tour." It's worth skipping an ice cream bash to make this event.

All you need to do is grab a hungry Harvard student and ask him or her to show you the sights. You will undoubttedly receive the true college experience.

There is one condition to this knowledge. You have to lose your calorieconscious high school attitude. You won't be able to match your host fry for fry if you are worried about gaining weight.

By the time the tour ends, you will be feeling pretty sick. That's ok, you will have learned a lot. And you'll get better at it. Thousands of Harvard students, many of whom went on to lead the country, started out gorging themselves on food late at night.

Don't you want to be part of another great Harvard tradition?

Beth L. Pinsker '93 is a Crimson editor. She has gone on 81 pre-frosh eating tours.
