Okay, we're freshmen. To tell the truth, we're not 21. We can't, legally, buy liquor. We can't, legally, go to say the neighborhood pub. However, it is no reason to print articles depicting us as nose-picking, diaper-wearing, e-mail-crazed board-game-playing losers.

We do things besides that. All right, we can't think of any just now. However, there is one board game you neglected to mention in your compelling article ("First-Years Turn to Board Games," Feb. 17, 1994) that we believe deserves some notice due to its increasing popularity among Yard-age scholars.

The game is derived from two basic, primal instincts of mankind: Monopoly and drinking Pepsi. We call it "Drinkopoly."

The rules are simple. Begin with a bottle of your favorite beverage--like milk, or Pepsi. Begin, also, with a Monopoly board. The rules are the same--except, of course, you have to drink a shot of Pepsi every time you pay, get paid, roll a seven or 11, land in or on Jail, Community Chest or Chance.

For the lucky few who get the big Free Parking bonus in the middle of the board, they get a double shot of the sweet soft drink.

We find that this game satisfies our fiercely competitive nature (which got us here in the first place) and also our fiercely ravenous appetites for soda pop (which tried to keep us out of this place). It is fun that the entire dorm family can enjoy.

Perhaps, in your next evaluation of life in the social climes of Freshmandom, you should consult some one with a pulse. Keith Gessen '97   George Sirignano '97   Justin Brennan '97
