Three University of Pennsylvania students were charged with arson after allegedly setting fire to the porch of a rival fraternity Tuesday night.
In what was described as "a prank gone wrong," police allege the three left a metal mailbox filled with pieces of an artificial log in front of the door of the Tabard Society house.
Police saw two men flee the scene in a black Jeep Cherokee, and when the men later returned, they were arrested.
The three students charged are brothers in the Zeta Psi fraternity, which has suspended them and denounced their alleged actions.
"We are cooperating fully with the authorities," fraternity president Carter Caldwell told the Daily Pennsylvanian.
"Clearly, if the facts are as presented, the students who have been charged used extraordinarily poor judgement and put lives at risk.," University spokesperson Ken Wildes said in a statement.
According to the Pennsylvanian, no injuries were reported and the house was not damaged in the incident.
