Furnishings Stolen During First-Year Dance

HARVARD BRIEF

By Kirsten G. Studlien

A four foot-tall plaster pedestal and a wrought-iron flower pot were stolen from Annenberg Hall during the President's Dance Saturday night, according to the Harvard University Police Department (HUPD).

The pot was one of two identical pieces in Annenberg. The pot and the pedestal on which it stood were removed sometime between 11:50 p.m. and 12:01 a.m., according to HUPD.

"There was a very large group of students who were gathering to leave, and when the hall had cleared we later noticed it was gone," said Joe Kelley, the customer service manager at Annenberg.

Kelley said the whereabouts of the items are still unknown, and there is no information about who may have taken them from the first-year event.

HUPD is currently investigating the theft and has classified it as a larceny over $250.
